Small Bathroom Remodel Ideas in Wilmington NC

Updated: Apr 14, 2023

You can Make a Small Space Amazing!

Sometimes, removing walls or adding on more space just really isn’t an option for your home. That doesn’t have to stop you from having an awesome space! Especially with a space like a bathroom, you don’t always need a ton of space to make it both beautiful and very useful. We’re going to take a look at our three favorite ideas, but this really comes down to how the space is designed, so before jumping headfirst into your next project, make sure whoever you work with has the design experience to really get the most out of your space.

Go Vertical

While you might not have the flat square footage, most bathrooms have a ton of room to go up. This can come in many ways, maybe build your shower with a large upright glass door, this will quickly give the illusion of space. The most obvious choice for going vertical is your cabinets. Most times in bathrooms, they only go to slightly above head height. If you want to store everything, go higher! You can put your less used items higher up, and keep your most used items within easy reach. Lastly, this can also help you with depth. Instead of taking up precious real estate going out, you can have thin but high cabinets and mirror compartments.

Large Mirrors

If you can find a spare wall and not even much of a wall, a big mirror added to your renovation will really give your space the appearance that it’s much larger than it really is. This is a very simple way to make the room look bigger. Obviously, you’ll know the trick, but people visiting will really not be sure why your space looks so much bigger than theirs!

While this does seem easy, we recommend talking with your contractor or designer to find the correct dimensions and just to get ideas. As if you have a randomly placed mirror, it could look tacky.

Floating Vanities & Wall Mounted Faucets

This is possibly our favorite set of ideas. Oftentimes bathrooms have plenty of space, but overly large vanities and sinks take up all the available space. As building science keeps improving, so do the options. Not only will something like a floating vanity look amazing, but it will also barely take up any space, and in turn really make your smaller space still feel open and inviting.

The same thing goes with the faucets. You can simply have one mounted into your wall with a much smaller sink. While this might not be the best option for a master bathroom where you want a bigger space for things like shaving, for something like a guest bath. It will give you a beautiful minimalist look and save you all kinds of space.
