Together they've built Avocet on a foundation of trust, artistry and an obsession with detail.
The Team's goal is a seamless blend of form, function and feeling.
At the core of every project is a close partnership; both with each other and with the client. Rather than working in separate roles, Chris and Michele approach each home as a shared creative pursuit: sculpting space, refining flow, layering material and mood. Their process is hands-on, deeply personalized, and built to ensure clarity and confidence from concept to completion.

CEOs & Owners of Avocet Design Build
Michele and Chris Pasch are the creative force behind Avocet Design Build; a husband-and-wife team whose approach blends vision, artistry, and hands-on expertise. Based in Wilmington, NC, they’ve turned their home into a base for collaboration, raising their family and building a practice rooted in care, craft, and character.

Chris leads as Creative Director and Lead Designer, shaping each project from the inside out. With an intuitive grasp of flow and spatial configuration, he can visualize how a home will live and breathe before it’s even built. Michele, as Finishes Coordinator and Client Care Manager, brings the tactile and emotional layers to life; curating every tile, fixture, and finish with an eye for timelessness and an ear for the client’s needs.

They don’t divide the work between builder and designer. Instead, they operate as a true design-build duo; solving each project like a puzzle, together. With weekly updates, a hands-on process, and a refusal to settle for “almost,” they ensure every client feels heard, cared for, and ultimately at home.
